From December 26 through January 1, families and communities come together to celebrate Kwanzaa, a seven-day cultural celebration honoring African heritage, unity, family, and community.
Each day of Kwanzaa highlights one of the Nguzo Saba (Seven Principles), encouraging us to reflect on the values that strengthen our families and communities.
🕯️ December 26 – Umoja (Unity): Striving for unity in our families, communities, and beyond.
🕯️ December 27 – Kujichagulia (Self-Determination): Defining ourselves, speaking for ourselves, and shaping our own futures.
🕯️ December 28 – Ujima (Collective Work & Responsibility): Working together to solve challenges and uplift our communities.
🕯️ December 29 – Ujamaa (Cooperative Economics): Supporting and building businesses that contribute to the economic strength of our communities.
🕯️ December 30 – Nia (Purpose): Working collectively to build and develop our communities.
🕯️ December 31 – Kuumba (Creativity): Using our talents and creativity to leave our communities better than we found them.
🕯️ January 1 – Imani (Faith): Believing in ourselves, our families, our communities, and the possibilities of a brighter future.
At the Greater Pompano Beach Chamber of Commerce, these principles remind us of the importance of collaboration, supporting local businesses, and building a stronger community together.
As we celebrate this season, may we continue to embrace the spirit of unity, purpose, and collective progress.
Wishing everyone celebrating a meaningful and joyous Kwanzaa!
